Description:
Five moons (discs, 1"diameter) move apparently at random
over the surface of a dark rectangle, sometimes occluding ("eclipsing")
one another. Careful study of the moons over a period of a minute
or more reveals that the moons repeat their pattern of motion
every 60 seconds. The effect is eye-catching and, to some, soothing.
Five battery operated clocks are mounted on a 12"x 16"
ground steel painted surface, black or a dark color in one of
several positions. The positions shown are a row of three above
a row of two, clocks near each other mounted 4 1/2" apart.
Another mounting position of the clock is on the points of a pentagon,
4 1/2" apart. The clocks have no hour or minute hands, only
a second hand apiece. A white or pale circle is mounted at the
end of each hand.
